HUME SECTIION 9
Hume talks about how even though animals learn many parts of their knowledge from observation there are also other parts of their knowledge from nature called instincts. Instincts are something both human beings and animals have which makes us share something in common. It teaches a human being to avoid fire and a bird the art of incubation. it is something that is not learned but it is kind of like common sense.
Eugenia you head the nail on the head here. I could not have explained it better yet i don't believe that humans have such instincts but I love the way put it out there.

Well I believe too that it is the combination of the two taht we as humans must learn from, and then pass down to our children to learn. For example, you are taught by your parents as a child to never talk to strangers. But before you are even taught that, I'm sure, that on your own you can concure that you should not be talking to a creepy man in the corner of the room when he beckons for you, instead you should feel afraid and want to keep your close to your nurturer, or mother.
